Future-proof your Skills: Training with AI and Industry-leading Tools

When it comes to AI, it helps to look at it in two parts: what is currently happening in the entertainment industry, and what the future might bring.

Part one: The present.

The reality is that technology moves fast, and so do we. At PIXL VISN, you will always train with cutting-edge tools used in top VFX and gaming studios.

Adapting to rapid innovation, including AI, is essential for any aspiring Digital Production Artist. That is why students at PIXL VISN are equipped not only with technical skills, but with the mindset to grow alongside the technology itself.

It is also important to understand that AI is not new in VFX or gaming.

It has been part of production pipelines for decades, automating tasks like rotoscoping, motion tracking, and facial animation, a powerful tool working behind the scenes.

Part two: The future.

Many people believe AI will replace artists, but this is far from the truth. AI can already generate almost anything at a high level of quality, and yes, it will keep improving.

Yet despite all these impressive results, there is not a single widely successful film, or even a short film, that has truly connected with audiences. Why is that?

Studios understand AI very well. But they also understand their audience. People do not respond the same way to AI-generated content when it comes to storytelling. It is not about quality, it is about emotional connection.

The same is true in music and writing. Even a great-sounding AI song struggles to move people once they find out it was not made by a human.

With film, this becomes even more important. Watching a movie is about believing in the world, connecting with characters, and being fully immersed in the story. Would Avatar feel the same if it had been entirely AI-generated?

AI is here to stay, but its role will remain clear: a tool that supports artists, speeds up workflows, and handles repetitive tasks, so artists can focus on what truly brings their work to life. Technology in this industry has always served that purpose.

Since the very beginning of filmmaking, the goal has always been the same: to make the audience believe, and to make them feel.

AI will have its strongest impact in fields where people expect a functional result without emotional connection, like a legal contract, where it simply needs to be correct.

In the world of entertainment, however, emotion is everything. And that will always remain human.

Quarter 1
Your journey begins with mastering the fundamental principles of 3D Animation & VFX. This quarter builds core artistic and technical skills through design theory, concept development, drawing, character design, and storyboarding.

You'll also dive into industry-standard software like Autodesk Maya, developing hands-on skills in modeling, texturing, and animation. Introductory training in photo editing gives you a solid grasp of both general and 3D-specific techniques. By the end of the quarter, you'll have a strong base for the advanced tools and workflows to come.
Quarter 2
This quarter deepens your skills across the foundational disciplines. You'll tackle more advanced projects in animation, modeling, and texturing, and start learning powerful tools such as ZBrush and Mari - all of which are key in VFX development.

You'll also explore the first of many AI-supported tools to streamline workflows and boost creativity. And although Demo Reel production starts later, this term lays the groundwork with initial concept development, storyboarding, and pre-planning to prepare you for what’s ahead.
Quarter 3
This is the quarter where your specialization begins to take shape. Whether you're drawn to character modeling, lighting, animation, or compositing, you'll refine your focus and sharpen your skills in your chosen area.

You'll level up with advanced production workflows, working across all tools and techniques introduced in earlier quarters. New topics like grooming (fur and hair simulation) are introduced here. While there’s no formal production yet, instructors begin preparing you for real-world studio expectations with more complex assignments and in-depth feedback.
Quarter 4
In this production-focused quarter, in addition to advanced lessons you'll contribute to a large-scale team project based on your specialization. This group project is led by a CG Supervisor from the industry, simulating a professional studio pipeline.

The experience mirrors the scope and structure of a real-world production and gives you a preview of the kind of collaboration required when creating a full Demo Reel. You'll leave this quarter with a high-level project under your belt - and the experience needed to tackle your personal reel next term.
Quarter 5
This term kicks off with one final production-scale project to solidify your readiness before Demo Reel work begins in full. Once that’s complete, the focus shifts to your individual Demo Reel, with full support from mentors who’ve worked on some of the biggest titles in the industry.

You'll refine your specialization, develop polished assets, and receive career coaching from an experienced industry recruiter, who will help you prepare for real studio environments, optimize your portfolio, and position yourself in a competitive job market.
Quarter 6
This is where your training becomes your calling card. You'll spend this final quarter building out your Demo Reel - whether that means modeling and texturing assets, rigging characters, animating, creating environments, lighting, compositing, or simulating effects.

Students work together in production-style pipelines while focusing on their individual strengths. You'll receive both 1:1 mentoring and group reviews from industry professionals matched to your specialization, ensuring your reel is aligned with current industry standards. By the end of this quarter, you won’t just be ready - you’ll be competitive.
